TOKYO LIGHTS is scheduled to be held again from November 8th (Friday) to November 10th (Sunday), and the Memorial Picture Gallery will be screening a projection mapping show where you can once again see the Grand Prix and other award-winning works from the past four years. This year’s theme, ‘Mirror’, poses the question of what we see and what we choose to believe. Despite it is his first time competing and being quite young, Kentaro Tanaka created an outstanding piece, earning him the Grand Prize. I am personally delighted that, for the first time, in 11 years, a Japanese creator has won the Grand Prize. Additionally, this year saw a record-breaking of 17 creators gathering at the venue. I am grateful to have shared this moment with all of you, and I look forward to the exhibition scheduled in November.

▼ Prize Plates to be awarded at the International Competition

The prize plates presented to the winners are created with a special design that reflects the characteristics of each region and theme.
The special design of the prize plates, which combine the craft techniques of both parties with the mirror theme, will serve as a symbol of the highest honor at the global competition in Tokyo.
