The 8th International Projection Mapping Competition "1 Minute Projection Mapping in Odawara Castle" was held at Odawara Castle in Kanagawa Prefecture from September 20 to 23.
We received 177 entries from a record 43 countries and regions, out of which we screened 20 films that had made it through the first screening.
In addition, more than 20,000 people visited the event during the tournament despite the continuous rain.
And at the public jury meeting on the 22nd, the jury actually saw the projected works,
After a rigorous judging process that included numerous discussions, the grand prize winner of this year's competition was decided.

Yann Nguema
France
Yann Nguema has a scientific background, but with an eye to the world of artistic creation. He founded the group EZ3kiel in 1992 as a musician, where the rich visual production he developed became an indispensable trademark of the band. His main focus has always been on the combination of visuals and music, mainly in the performing arts. He developed software to add an interactive dimension to his creative process and integrated computer technology into his work. As an exhibition, installation, and staging designer, he has designed numerous projects that combine technology, research, and poetry. yann is currently an ambassador artist for the Lyon Festival of Lights, an annual light festival in France Yann is currently an ambassador artist for the annual Lyon Festival of Lights in France.
Yael Braha
Italy
An award-winning multimedia director, Yael Braha's work ranges from large-scale, interactive installations to complex shows Istituto Europeo di Design (Rome, 1996), San Francisco State University (MFA in Cinema, 2005) and joined Moment Factory in 2015. Among her professional projects is "Illumination: protecting our planet," a projection mapping at the UN building during the 2014 UN Climate Summit Yael's expertise in computer vision, parametric modeling, and kinetic sculpture Yael's expertise in computer vision, parametric modeling, and kinetic sculpture is leading Moment Factory in new and exciting directions.
Hideki Nagasaki
Japan
Representative Director of SIMDirect Inc. / Senior Managing Director of TAKENAKA Inc. After graduating from university, he studied sound direction and production of commercial music, radio commercials, and radio programs at a sound production company. In 2002, he started his career at TAKENAKA, Inc. in the field of event production, video and scenography. In 2009, he was deeply involved in the launch of "BeamPainting," a projection mapping brand of TAKENAKA, and since then, he has produced many projection mappings with interactive elements. In recent years, he has combined laser animation and mapping to pursue new possibilities and expand his range of expression. He also started projection mapping with art works early on, mapping Taro Okamoto's Tower of the Sun eight times and Katsuhiko Chaen's sand sculpture five times.
Li Cheng
China
CG creator and creative artist from China. He has participated in many international projection mapping competitions and continues to pursue and challenge high-end works on a daily basis. He won the Grand Prix and the Audience Award at the 7th "1minute Projection Mapping in Miyazaki" for the first time.
Ishita Michiyuki
Japan
Representative of Projection Mapping Association, creative director and scenographer. Part-time lecturer at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. One of the pioneers in the projection mapping industry in Japan, he has been involved in a large number of spatial productions and lectures using video images. He has been invited to judge competitions and give lectures in Japan and abroad, and is internationally recognized for his activities and achievements.
