TOKYO LIGHTS, a festival of light that brings hope to the world through entertainment and art, was held from December 9 to 12 at the Seitoku Memorial Picture Gallery in Meiji Jingu Gaien as the main content of the 9th “1minute Projection Mapping in TOKYO,” an international projection mapping competition. The 9th International Projection Mapping Competition "1minute Projection Mapping in TOKYO" was held at the Seitoku Memorial Picture Gallery in Meiji Jingu Gaien from December 9 to 12.

This year we received 246 entries from 54 countries and regions, the highest number ever.

At the public judging held on December 12, judges in Japan and those from overseas who could not make it to Japan due to the Corona disaster held numerous discussions both in real and online to ensure a rigorous judging process.

Daito Manabe

In recent years, he has become highly concerned with climate change and environmental degradation, lending his projection skills and artistry to activists and groups such as Extinction Rebellion and a new body of work that looks at the devastating effects of coal mining on one of the oldest forests in Europe. He was one of the first in Japan to start projection mapping on buildings, and has also produced international conventions and exhibitions, staged performances and live performances, and developed businesses and human resource development programs such as seminars and workshops for regional development.
