1minute Projection Mapping Competition at Media Arts Zushi 2014

Zushi Elementary School

The third "1minute Projection Mapping" event was held at Zushi Elementary School in Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture, just as it was last year.
As the main program of the media art festival "Media Arts Zushi 2014"
Screened over two days from Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, September 21, 2014,
Over the two days, a total of 4,000 attendees were recorded, surpassing last year's figures.

Additionally, a record-high 37 entries were received from over 10 countries and regions, solidifying its position as one of the world's most prominent competitions.
This year's theme is "WA." It encompasses not only "harmony," which signifies Japan, but also...

Jury

Ryūichi Hirai

Mayor of Zushi City. Born in Zushi in 1966 (Showa 41). Graduated from Zushi Elementary School (Soccer Club), Kuki Junior High School (Track and Field Club), Kanagawa Prefectural Yokosuka High School (Track and Field Club), and Waseda University School of Social Sciences (Exploration Club). Joined ASK Planning Center Co., Ltd. in 1989 (Yacht Club), serving as President's Secretary and in the Corporate Planning Office. Elected to the Zushi City Council for three consecutive terms starting in 1998, and assumed office as Mayor of Zushi City in 2006.

Tomoyuki Sugiyama

President, Digital Hollywood University / Doctor of Engineering. After completing his graduate studies at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, University of Tokyo, he became an assistant professor at the same university, working on architectural acoustic design using computer simulation. Moved to the U.S. in 1987, serving as a Visiting Researcher at MIT Media Lab, Principal Researcher at the International Media Research Foundation, and Full-time Lecturer at Nihon University Junior College. Founded Digital Hollywood in 1994. Established the Graduate School in 2003 and the University in 2004, currently serving as President of Digital Hollywood University. Author of numerous books, including "Cool Japan: What the World Wants to Buy from Japan" (Shodensha).

Ryotaro Muramatsu

Artist / Representative Director, NAKED Inc. Active across genres including TV, advertising, music videos, and spatial design. Has released four feature films theatrically, with short films and feature films receiving 48 nominations and awards at international film festivals. Major works include the 3D projection mapping "TOKYO HIKARI VISION" at Tokyo Station and the projection mapping "KARAKURI" for the Tokyo National Museum special exhibition "Kyoto: The Beauty of Rakuchū-Rakugai-zu and Shoheki-ga".

Tetsuo Yamashige

Art Director, Zushi Art Festival; General Director, Nakanojo Biennale. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1975. Resides in Gunma Prefecture. Launched the Nakanojo Biennale in 2007. Relocated to Nakanojo in 2010 and produces the Creative Communication Center tsumuji. Serves as General Director of the Nakanojo Biennale, spearheading community development centered around art.

Ishida Michiyuki

MEDI-ARTz General Producer / Representative of the Projection Mapping Association. Representative Director of the Projection Mapping Association Foundation. Also active as a producer of music and art events, a video creator, and a spatial designer. As a pioneer in spatial design using video, he has led the scene in Japan. His extensive international activities include lectures and performances at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London and the Le Cube media art museum in France, as well as directing installations at the Guggenheim Museum in Spain. He founded the "Zushi Media Art Festival" (now MEDI-ARTZ Zushi) in Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture, utilizing projection mapping and media art.
