【Follow-up】Judo Gold Medalist Natsumi Kakuda Selected as Presenter for International Projection Mapping Competition!【9/16】

~ World-class top athletes take the stage, adding even more brilliance to Japan's celebrated Festival of Light ~

The 12th annual "1minute Projection Mapping Competition" (hereinafter referred to as the International Competition), Japan's largest international projection mapping event, has announced that 2024 Paris Olympics 48kg class gold medalist Natsumi Tsunoda (SBC Shonan Beauty Clinic) will serve as a presenter at its awards ceremony.

This brings the total to Shigekix (Dai-ichi Life) in Breaking, Hikaru Mori (TOKIO Incarnami / Kanazawa Gakuin University Club) in Trampoline, and the first finalist from TOKYO LIGHTS.
All teams (18 groups from 14 countries worldwide) and a star-studded MC lineup will gather in Tokyo.
This international competition awards ceremony, hosted by MCs Harry Sugiyama and Aki Shibuya, will be held on Monday, September 16 (a national holiday) at the Seito Memorial Art Museum in Meiji Jingu Gaien.

This international competition is organized and hosted by the Projection Mapping Association (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Michiyuki Ishi), which has been planning and holding the event since 2012. It will be held as the main content of the light festival "TOKYO LIGHTS," which has become a new seasonal tradition of light in Tokyo, continuing from the previous edition.

Advance ticket reservations are required for admission. While a free standing area is available, reserving or purchasing a paid ticket allows you to enjoy the powerful visual experience seated in the viewing area. Please check the ticket information for details.

▼About the International Competition "1minute Projection Mapping Competition"

The 1minute Projection Mapping Competition is a globally renowned international projection mapping event with a distinguished history, now celebrating its 12th edition.
This year, we received 278 entries from 56 countries and regions around the world. Competing for the title of this year's world champion are short films ranging from 1 to 1 minute 59 seconds in length, all centered on the theme "Mirror."

▼ About Michiyuki Ishi, Overall Producer of the Competition / Head Judge

As an artist who captures video as light to stage spaces, he works both domestically and internationally. In 2011, he founded the Projection Mapping Association and is an internationally recognized leader frequently invited to plan and direct the world's largest international projection mapping competitions, produce projects for national initiatives, and serve as a speaker or judge at international festivals abroad.
As a creative director and producer with an artistic perspective, he has created numerous one-of-a-kind projects, including the light festival TOKYO LIGHTS and NIGHT WAVE, which illuminates the waves along the coast.

For those unable to attend in person, the International Projection Mapping Competition and Awards Ceremony will be streamed online.
This project is advancing environmentally conscious initiatives. (On-site power generation using biofuel)
